Just bought a used new holland with what i believe are the original tires, 14.9x24 Titans. One is hammered, badly cracked and needs replaced, the other isn't anywhere near as bad and I think may be usable. I'll attach a pic of the good one.
I'm trying to track down someone who can replace the other tire and I'm trying to answer their questions, like: are these radials or biased, are they filled out not. How can i tell if they are radial or biased, as there doesn't seem to be anything on the tire that indicates one way or the other. It says "Titan high traction lug, general purpose r1, 4ply".

The gentlement wasn't sure if they were filled or not. How big of a deal is this on a tc45 with a back hoe? Do i care about radial vs biased?
thanks a lot for your help

IF they are filled, they my be 500 pounds heavier to deal with (just a guess on weight). If you can rotate the tire where the valve stem is below halfway on the tire, 3 to 9 o'clock position and see if air or something else comes out!! That will let you know if they are filled.

Show us a photo of the bad one... these tires are pretty thick, I would not replace one if it just "looks" bad. They are pretty pricey.

There is no such thing as radial tractor tires. When you replace one, replace the other.

Does it still hold air ? if so keep running it . I have seen some rear tires that " need " replacing last 10 years

Where have you been? Manufacturers have been producing radial tractor tires for many years. They also command a very high premium price.

Radial tractor tires have better traction than standard bias ply tires but the sidewalls tend to bulge out more which make them more prone to abrasions from rocks and punctures.

Need to do your homework sir.........the BTOs swear by them!
