I will use head gasket goop on the rim at the bead area, sometimes also on the tire bead, too. Then when you push the carcass towards the rim, it sticks, and the airflow will fill it.
I've also use the starting fluid technique with great success ! just a spurt. Done. But it takes some 'sperience to know how much is enough. For this to work, the tire bead has to be tight on the rim. Many of the imported tires now are too loose on the rim to stay put.
