Tire spin

Thanks for the reply's. I don't think I am over doing it trying to scrape up grass only digging an inch or two down. I know to lift and curl when taking bites out of a pile. The backhoe is on the back for weight. I did check the sight level on the rear its halfway up which should be good. It's a good machine and I know it's not a bulldozer or excavator I was just surprised it would just stop and not spin. I will look into getting a pressure gauge to plug in maybe its below spec on pressure. Maybe needs to breakin some more. I was wondering if other sa424 or 324 owners had similar experiences. Thanks for the welcome, browsed here a bit before I got the yanmar to see how others liked them. I was torn between the b2650 or the sa424 both seem to be great machines but came down to price and financing. Now I need to start getting all the goodies for it.

I have a 424.
It will spin.
For example a full box blade going uphill it will spin.

FEL digging in it will spin.

This is in low range. Hardly ever use high.

A backhoe puts a lot of weight for better traction...I would say that is why you can't break the tires loose. Plus maybe not enough horsepower.

I have 4 years and 475 hours on my 424. I don't have a hoe on mine but with a 6' tiller on the back it's a digging beast.

Sounds like you have experience so you know to take small level bites with the bucket but I don't have the issue with the whine that you are stating. I typically did in 4x4 for what it's worth.

My 424 tires don’t spin either, but mine are weighted so I don’t expect them to. You need to learn how to work that FEL a bit more. Taking too big a bite before curling back and lifting. You get 50% of your scoop on the initial push and the other 50% on the curl and lift. Try it.
