I have been pulling my Bobcat tractor with my Pathfinder most of the summer and fall while waiting on the perfect truck at the right price. I got within $500 of trading a few weeks ago. The Pathfinder is in the shop for a new tranny this week. How do you think I feel about that $500 now?

I am sure you are kicking yourself. I had the same thing happen with my Dodge 2500. I was close to trading it after the first tranny went out. Instead I decided to keep it for a year and get a Dmax. Well guess what, the tranny went out again and $6,000 later you get the idea. Live and learn.

Curious; what model Bobcat? I have towed an S185 and S150. That S185 is 6000lbs without a bucket/attachment.

I think he means a Bobcat CUT. Not a SS. These I would assume weigh about 2-2.5k give or take on the model and attachments.

$6K for both tranny repairs?
I ask because I'm doing my due diligence on the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 and am keeping track of the cost of replacement parts (injectors, injection pump, lift pump, etc) and larger expenses (engine rebuild, tranny repairs, etc).

The path finder is not enough vehicle to pull a bob cat with is probably why you are repairing the transmission.
Darn shame too because I sure wish I could tow my BX23 with my Nissan pick up.

Yes and no. It was to fix it the first time and replace it the second time. I would say a Dodge tranny is in the 5K range.

No, it was actually a Bob Cat style machine. It was small. My neighbor had one like it a few years back and it only weighed 4K but his was called a Mustang. It was about this size machine. I am sure this is what he had on that trailer. Perfect for his landscape business.

I think you mentioned the half dump thing with the SS in another thread. When I corrected him, I was referring and I believe he was reffering to this post about a Bobcat CUT:

You are right Kyle. Should have read further back. Anyway that is what the guy had on that 1/2 dump trailer. Looked pretty sweet.
