Jeremy if you use a wide knife plate similar to those in this picture or that Luke posted above (or those from ctpostandbeam) and orient the post such that the blade runs perpendicular to the arbor, then build the arbor such that it has a brace ( against side to side rotation you would have a solid structure - Simpson has these type plates on their UK website but not 8" or 10" blades - The timber frame folks had a person fabricate some similar to these to set my posts on (likely for yours as well) but they were smaller blades - I assume you can get them fabricated locally and ctpostandbeam state they will do custom work as well
