Throttle Lock/tension

3320 JD having trouble keeping throttle at PTO speed. Lever seems to slip back and lose RPM's. Anyone had this problem and found the solution? Tension/Friction nut/bolt?

There is a friction disk to adjust, I believe.
And it is located right at the pivot point of the throttle lever. Tighten the nut to gain some friction.

Thanks for the response. How is that pivot point accessed? Remove the rear panel? Dash Panel?

parts key # 6 is what beenthere is referring to tighten.

Thanks, got that, just don't know how to get to it. Do I have to remove the cowl or instrument cluster?

Will need to remove whatever it takes to get to the nut to tighten it. A little exploration and being careful not to break any tabs along the way.
jdparts may show the different parts that make up the 'covers' that need to come off, at least enough to reach the nut. Hopefully can reach up through the fuze cover door, or in beside the fuel tank.

I just had to do it to my 4300 today. I had to take the screws out for the trim around the instument cluster and lift it to gain access. Took me about 10 minutes.

On mine it was phillips screws and black trim, but I don't know what it is on the newer models. The thorottle linkage looks identical though.
