Spent the better part of 2 hours beating one of the casters on my 60" mower deck to get it to free up, rotate and drop out of the mount. The wife wanted the car inside this winter, so all attachments were carefully lubed and stored under a tarp behind the garage this winter except for the snow plow. Well, first cutting of the lawn was supposed to be today, and I wanted to switch the solid tire casters from the plow to the mower. First one slipped right out. The second one wouldn't even rotate, let alone drop out. I tried PB Blaster, heat, etc.... but the only way it was coming out was with several hundred whacks from an 8 pound sledge. When it finally came out, it just looked dirty. Couldn't find any rust or burrs. :confused2:

I cleaned up the inside of the mount with some sand paper, as well as the shaft on the sticking caster, but it won't go in more than an inch from either the top or bottom. However, the other 3 casters I tried all slipped right in. There's something about this one caster that the pin is either not round or bent somehow. Anyhow, didn't have time to put the calipers to it to measure. Got the front yard mowed, but boy are my arms tired from that sledge!
