Yes, the heavier EA Root Rake Grapple is a beast in all the right places and is still only in the 400 pound range, BUT...I agree...it is overkill for you.

Not really such a stress. Clamp the load (zero stress) and then curl. Curl power is typically at least as much as lift power so it doesn't stress anything beyond what the loader was designed to do. Certainly less stress than what we all do when trying to pop out stumps by sticking bottom tines under the stump and then curling to relief pressure.

And if you don't want or need to curl then just lift with the grapple clamped in dump position and move the load wherever you want before opening the jaw to let the load drop.

The curl strength on my tractor fell a lot short trying to do that. I'd use that style to pick up logs when I didn't want to damage the ground, but then I'd curl the grapple up while lowering the arms and driving backwards at the same time. Once I had the load closer to the pins I could lift it.

Can you answer one more question? How long are the lower tines on the 50" Compact Wicked Root Grapple vs. a 54" single Lid Root grapple?

You all really need to number your different models to make them easier to identify! Lol

Yeah same here. Curl strength is not as great as lift strength on my smaller machine.

I know the exact grapples you're talking about, but, yes we do have quite a few.
Those two lower tines measure the same. 32" front to back overall and about 26.5" in front of the tube, as shown below.

Thank you Travis! I think I've finally decided on the grapple I want.

We installed our breakaway clamp today. I put a zip ties on the hoses of a male and a female fitting of one coupling so we could always connect the same hoses together so that open would be open and close would be close. Swapped the female coupling on the Wicked for the male coupling on the Mahindra. Zip tied the clamp to a likely location and let the Wicked flex her muscles to see if it would work. Been working all afternoon. Will eventually get around to bolting it on.
