I read $300M, but who's counting?

As far as staying on track with the thread topic and the spaceman, well there is 'Space Oddity' and 'Spaceman' (Harry Nilsson) and probably a few others. And we could go to 'For Yasgur's Farm' (Mountain), but that might be stretching it a bit.

Tiny Tim well you don't have to like it but it was unique.

I also heard that Dylan sold for 300 million.
Funny that you mention Stevie Nicks... she just sold 80% interest in her music. No price given, but it was estimated to be worth 100 mil. I'm in the wrong business.

Not to be hard to get along with, but wasn't that actually Bob Wills who did the ah-haa? Tommy Duncan had a very distinctive voice, and his name and voice was know far and wide when I was growing up. I went for the classic country music at the time, and didn't have much appreciation for Western Swing. I actually met Bob Wills in person when I was about 5 years old; I still remember shaking hands with him. It was in Pawhuska Oklahoma; my Dad took me up to the bandstand during the break, and he shook my hand. At that time all we had was radio, and he was on there a lot.

I hadn't heard that. He seemed like a genuine person even after becoming famous. I grew up listening to him along with Merle Haggard and a few others. On a stormy day I find myself thinking "Rain dripping down the back of my neck" ... especially if I have to work in it.

I don't remember exactly what it said, but on his first album cover there was a comment about how unusual it was for a black man to sing country music.
