Reports I saw said a report of gun shots was called in to bring police so they could be the target of the explosion. I believe whoever set it intended to kill police and civilians alike and as many as possible. Hopefully, they will be caught and executed after getting every bit of possible information they have.

Why broadcast a warning if they wanted to hurt/kill people? The hoax gunshot call would have brought the cavalry if that was their goal.

Simply to instill fear and demoralize citizens and police. Psychological warfare. It wasn’t a warning.

Why would you even think that anyone who sets off an explosive device that damages multiple city blocks in a populated downtown area early Christmas morning on a cold day when people would be inside sleeping or celebrating Christmas and most unlikely to hear any supposed “warning” was not trying to “hurt/kill people”.

Street is lined with bars, all closed. Only a few apartments upstairs above some. Call and warning allowed PD to evacuate those. Street was nearly deserted otherwise. The only damage visible so far is broken glass, fallen bricks and shattered small trees. Being directly outside the door of AT&T leads to speculation that was the target. Some suggest a disgruntled employee with nothing much to go on so far. There are reports of 'tissue that could be human remains' which leads to speculation of a suicide. They know the vehicle, have pictures of it and are trying to ID the owner.

Anyone setting off a large explosive inside a city has some idea that they could be killing people, especially when they call 911 and give notice to have police respond

And criminals have been calling in “tips” or “warnings” about their crimes since there have been phones.

There are many unanswered questions yet. But one thing that is pretty certain is that any “warning” message was not intended to minimize loss of life.

This Nashville Bombing is the darnedest incident I ever read about. Obviously well planned and financed. They went to enormous effort to insure people and police were not endangered. The sound system was so good, their pre-recorded gunshots were designed to bring immediate 911 calls and police to the scene in force, followed up by a recording asking police and people to evacuate the area due to a bomb. Then started their own prerecorded countdown over loudspeakers. Incredible. Extremely well planned.
