Louisiana Swamp Donkey

Tim Montana And the Shrednecks

Tyler Childers

Spotify has help me discover so many great artist, I do not listen to radio at all now in the shop.
Hope this helps.

This guy does not exactly fit in with your list, but I see the Texas influence. Junior Brown has that old ET (Ernest Tubb) sound with a little faster/modern guitar licks mixed in. I've drank a bunch of beer with "ol Junior playing:laughing: and figgured no one else would ever suggest him.

I recognize him. :confused3: I've seen him live playing pedal steel and the double-necked thing sometime in the past. I can't place with whom? He wasn't on the billboard he was just one of the band but impressed in my mind.

Maybe Robert Earl Keen? Spent a fair amount of time in the Austin live music "scene" so could've been anywhere.

For some reason I thing it was either John T Floore's County Store or Gruene Hall.

To get ideas on who you like, launch Boot Liquor radio in a separate tab, when you hear something you like, it's on their played list. Lots of artists mentioned here show up on there.

John Stewart was a classic......saw him dozens of times in So. Calif. at McCabes, Troubadour, Ice House etc...... He replaced Dave Guard in the Kingston Trio. His solo performances were classic. His wife Buffy Ford was also very good. A great guy as well.......the Lonesome Picker! His California Bloodlines album is an alltime classic. A great American songwriter. Here's a classic......

Avett Bros. and Trampled by Turtles have some good stuff out there right now. ...

<Insert Freaky Scary Music>

Never heard of Trampled by Turtles and figured I would look them up....

Was playing around with the Amazon Fire TV which has Prime Music. Figured it would show the music I bought. It did but had many songs by the Avett Brothers that I have not bought. Right next to the Avett Brothers was the Trampled By Turtles. :shocked::laughing::laughing::laughing:

<End Freaky Scary Music>

Later,
Dan

Huh. The only thing that can out-weird that is something Japanese, a country that out-weirds everybody else without even trying.
