TC33D Keeps going through fuel shutoff solenoids

If this schematic applies to the tractor in question, It appears that the fuel solenoid energizes directly from the key switch. I see no "black box timer" between the key switch and the fuel control solenoid. Perhaps something is missed.

If so, that would suggest that it energizes to allow fuel flow. I've not seen this method used with single wire solenoids. Certainly one could not start an engine without a good battery. ( That would be dumb! But hey! Modern technology ;-)

Regardless, positioning of the solenoid is critical! consult the service literature for specs and procedure.

Powered through the key switch? With all the key switch issues that could be the smoking gun. Read the sticky thread on the TC33 at the top of this section (NH Owning/Operating).

These documnets may help.

It does have the washer/spacer.

when key is on there is 12vdc to the solenoid, this RETRACTS the solenoid. By "unscrewing" it you are mimicking the solenoid retracting thus allowing the fuel to flow to the engine.

There is no relay between the ignition and solenoid?

Is it this type? They must be adjusted so that the stopper fully retracts or they will burn out .

Look at the supplied PDF posted by thclimer. The "type" might be the same, but the configuration is different.

Bonus! The mounting position means NOTHING. The solenoid does it's thing by retracting into it's self.
The "bench test" procedure indicates that the solenoid should live forever, powered up to full activation while on the work bench.

Now the idea that a high resistance connection might actually draw MORE current gets a guy thinking.

Can a solenoid fully energized at 12.5V draw fewer amps than the same solenoid supplied with only 9V based on displacement? The voltage difference lost to connector or switch resistance.

Hmmmmmmmmmm?

An aside, I've always wondered what are the mechanical differences between and AC solenoid linear actuator and a DC solenoid linear actuator. What winding scheme is associated with each?

Who said anything about "mounting position" ?

I am talking about the ADJUSTABLE link rod ! IF the stop lever on the pump comes against its stopper BUT the plunger INSIDE the solenoid IS NOT on ITS stopper, the wingdings WILL GET HOT !

If u still have the original 1.?? it should have a part# on it..
Take that # & call a diesel fuel injection shop.. they might be able to get u an original at a lower cost than a dealer.?
That's "IF" u think the others are infer.
