Who said anything about "mounting position" ?
I am talking about the ADJUSTABLE link rod ! IF the stop lever on the pump comes against its stopper BUT the plunger INSIDE the solenoid IS NOT on ITS stopper, the wingdings WILL GET HOT !
The solenoid operation for this tractor does not function that way. There is no adjustable link arm. The operation and test description indicates that the solenoid just pulls away from the pump mechanism to halt fuel flow. The solenoid is designed to come to it's full travel regardless of what the fuel shut off mechanism within the pump does. This is confirmed by the "unscrew it to stop the tractor" work around. The energized bench test stick out dimension is the only criteria.
