I looked up Minnesota on the map. Did you guys realize that was actually still in the lower 48? Just kidding, naturally, but in this great, big country we certainly do have our extremes. I went to the local LOWES Saturday looking for a few bags of topsoil and some grass seed. It was in the lower eighties and the place was packed. I had the soil loaded and was wandering around when a nice looking young lady asked if she could help. "Yep. Looking for grass seed."
She led me to the aisle and shelf where the seed was displayed and I found what I was looking for, besides her of course. Centipede. Then this real ugly old fellow popped up and asked what I was doing. "Planting grass buddy." I thought it was obvious, but who am I to judge? He then told me I shouldn't be buying Centipede since it was still too cold for it to germinate. I should buy something else. Really? How about if I buy what I want and just wait a few weeks? By the way, how warm has it got to be for this grass to grow? The last one I planted was in November and it's doing fine. Now where's that pretty young girl?
If I'd wanted his help I couldn't have found him.
