Taking tongue jack apart

/ Taking tongue jack apart #21
I was thinking drill a 1/8" hole or 2 and use a slide hammer with a screw. Or a stud welder and a slide hammer?

Just slide a chunk of pipe (pvc ok) over the acme thread before you weld it up to keep any berries from sticking to it. Chances are only one would get through but it will stick and gall everything. One thing I've learned over the years is that it's better to take a couple extra minutes to protect against the unlikely that wish that you had later.

Good idea....I'll do that. Will be the weekend or later before I can get back to that. Other issues require my attention, and some company this Saturday. One thing about being retired, I no longer do anything in a rush.
