Re: Bob,

Nice points.

I don't care to blame anyone. As Americas the only thing we are responsible for right now is massive amounts of help and care.

We were to slow to respond. We did not know the magnitude of the disaster. I personaly don't care for the political swings being throw about, and I am sure a lot of the people throwing statements around are not worth anyone who subscribes to TBN's time.

Every dog has his day.

Funny how the media, in the middle of the crisis, with all thier communications equipment, cannot figure a way out of it either. Makes you wonder, like someone said, we are NOT stupid. The magnitude of this is beyond normal relief efforts.

God bless those people. Hopefully we as a nation can move forward, becoming stronger, and NEVER let this happen again.

Your right Bob. I think it's time to think about the victims. I'm going to clean out my closet of some of the clothes that don't fit me anymore. I'm sure their are some folks in the hurricane zone that can wear them since most of their belongings are gone. I guess Salvation Army would be a good place to drop them off.

Not a response to your post Jim, just a comment after reading the last few posts. My comment was deleted previously and I wasn't bashing anyone for commenting about GW, just stated a fact and now they're finally there.

I totally agree....what a stupid excuse for a local and state government. I can't believe they are blaming the president. It's an outrage. The governor of the state is equally to blame as the Mayor. Now, I think there's plenty of blame to go around on the federal side. I just don't think one person can bare the blame here. It's not the president's fault.....not one darn bit. It's the agencies such as FEMA and the joke Dept of "Homeland Security" that he entrusted to be on top of these things.

I told my wife on day one...this will eventually turn out to be a race issue. Sure enough the black caucus in Washington is trying to blame the President himself. We'll have to see how it all pans out and who really is to blame. And certainly there is a fair bit of blame to be dolled out. -I must say that our governments (local, state, federal) have an extremely hard time learning very basic lessons....Sometimes they seem a bit on the retarded side.

I would not say it's the "liberal media" who's touting this. It's something that some idiot said and was reported. You might want to change the channel to Fox to some un-bias news /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The Unites States does not accept "help" from other countries. We can and will take care of ourselves. If another country wants to give directly to the Red Cross or other organization, that's fine, but we do not accept help as a nation. My wife asked the same thing and I had to bring her up to speed on the issue.

I'd agree if this was a situation that was moving through the system and had some time to be considered. This hammered the country and I'm not sure the President of Unites States is to fault....not initally anyway. We'll see if any additional information comes to light.

I have not read all the post in this thread so I may off topic or covering a point made. I was in New Orleans Friday to provide escort and security for a group extracting vital network servers. The media is only focusing on the doom. We made it into downtown NOLA on a route to bypass the major flooding through Metarie across the river into the west bank and back across the river into downtown NOLA. The area we passed had much less destruction than I anticipated in fact many areas could be functioning if they had water, sewer, and a generator. The majority of the businesses were still boarded up with no sign of looting. Much of downtown is not flooded. The biggest problem is communications are non existant - no group knows what the other group is doing. We were warned once we arrived in the area we were on our own as we would have no way of calling for help. Yes it is very bad and many areas and people are dying, but all is not lost.

It is clear now that NOLA and the state had no plan. This also includes the businesses. We had to go into NOLA because a major branch of government had not made plans to backup their data outside the NOLA area. There is blame to go everywhere.
