T20 starting problem

I believe to start the T20 you have to push the shifter up to the right? I have not been able to start it this way and I have to short the solenoid. Is there an adjustment or ? Thanks

Is this a Ferguson TO-20?

Yes, when I bought it it was in a corral with horses and I had to repair most of the wiring. I can start it by using a screwdriver across the bolts on the relay but I can't start it using the shifter, I guess? I looked at youtube and it looks like they use the shifter some how.

You could add your own starter - push-button on the dash to close a solonoid to close the hot to the starter.

Or you could dig into the tranny and fix the mechanical switch (as I remember it anyway).

Do you have the I&T shop manual for the TO's ?

G'day from memory lift the stick up and all the way over to the right and forward to start if this does not work the switch just unscrews from the trans to replace it but if i remember right they are not cheap and have replaced a few as stated with a push button switch
