Nice. Low cost. I have hundreds in my fields that I will be removing when I take down fence left from the previous owner of our farm. I plan to use them any way I can, for fence or otherwise.

Quick "cultural" question: are your 'T' posts called that because they are actually formed as a 'T'?

Ours are formed as a 'Y' and are called/referred to as "star pickets".

Yup... "t" shaped, hence the name.

I have a few posts I plan to use to make a 'top of loader bucket' guard out of, an extra 16" of see-thru protection from brush or logs from coming over the top of the bucket will be nice.

For others who've welded T posts. How do you handle the stinking paint? I've considered grinding it off but, it seems to me that whether ground or burned any contaminates would become air borne.

6011 and burn through it?

6011 and burn through it?

You can also long arc 6011 to burn off paint.
But burning through it isn't a bad thing either.

Ta, Bruce. The third one in from the left is the standard/ubiquitous star-picket sold here in Aus.

I suppose that other types would be available here but you'd have to search them out. Interesting.

Thanks, never thought of using them for projects. I have a used T post pile, I will put some of the short and broken off ones in with my angle iron supply to remind me. :thumbsup:
