Summer's almost here ...we can now see the deer moving around.
Yep, won't be long.

WayneB, That is great, very funny. Some years back we had a big storm like that and went snowmobiling. It was around 1200hrs{10:00pm}, I went off the main trial. In away I quess there was a reason, under the snow there was a doe trying to get back onto the trail{leading back into the woods}. I made a few passes next to her then helped her get out of the mess she was in. She walked off and never once seemed upset with the help given.
Dave1949, 40's and 30's wow we're lucky if we top 25 yet. We have had a light winter as far as snow goes this year. """drum roll"""............. We also get some of our worst storms in marchI'll wait till the fat lady sings before I say winter is over
In 1993 we got 40+" over night, march 20 something. A few years back we got 48" in less then 24 hrs and I believe that was in march?
Seen this picture floating around about this time last year.It has been a soft winter here too, very little snow, less than 70" total, but with the rains and warm weather most of it has melted and run off. The other day we got about 8 or 9 inches, but yesterday it was warm and sunny and allot of that is gone. Who knows what to expect the rest of the winter and early spring. One thing for sure the fields will be dry and the wells low this spring if we don't get a few good storms.
20-20 As for the Adirondacks we have a summer place on the Raquette river nesr south Colton. Spend as much time as we can up there (three seasons) and stay away in the winter. And the deer picture is just something someone sent me, the deer around here are wintering over nicely and look really healthy. Might be a good deer season next fall.

We've been very cold and have had allmost no snow. I'm also concerned about drought this spring summer. On the bright side dry ground means less black flies
That is for sure as far as the drought goes. Maybe we will get a wet spring to aid the mud season. Not everyone enjoys the four seasons like we do! Snow, Mud, Black Fly and then snow again
That's up near Potsdam, at one time I drove truck up that way on occasion, beautifull country. I'm a ways south just on the bottom, love ridding bike up through the moutains. You are correct it has been easy on the deer this year. That may be a good thing for them around here. It seemed like all of NY state hunted in our back yard![]()
The DEC was asking for help, seems they had a bit of issue's in this area.
