JD 4100 HST CUT w/Yanmar 3TNE74 | JD 300 Lawn
I need a PTO shaft for a deere 4100 cut. It sheared off just inside the case. I haven't opened the case up, so not sure if I just need a shaft and seal, or maybe more.

The JD parts manuals are available online.

The rear pto shaft was M807623 but has been replaced by LVU800637.
It is used on 4100, 4110, 4115 with hst transmissions.

I like to use tractorhouse to see what salvage yards

Why did it break is the first question I would be asking. If it is the tractor with 600 hours in your other thread that would suggest it was not wear and tear.. If it was due to an accident or abuse I would replace the bearings as well. No matter what I would replace the seals.

I'm not sure I've seen a sheered PTO output, although the one on my Massey Harris is bent and will need to be dealt with sometime.

Perhaps too short of a PTO shaft and either an side force from turning, or raising and lowering the implement?

Thanks for all the input. I was abusing it. Had a 4ft rotary attached and beating on big (mostly rotted) tree stumps. I don't know exactly when it snapped. 2600 hours.

Shaft, seal for certain, maybe bearings as you are suggesting. Once I pull it out, we'll see.

Thanks! I have the parts link. Thanks for confirming I had the right numbers!

Lol. Well, sometime we do stupid things. With our tools and with ourselves. I finally bought a 4' rotary cutter when I started to destroy my finish mower by trying to use it to cut small trees. Dumb. Damaged the spindle, and I'm still paying the price for that! My machinist relative has kept me going. But a 4' cutter is not going to whittle down a 12" stump when it's not rotted.

All States ended up not having one, but another, via tractorhouse, appears to.

I tore it down. Looks like just the shaft was damaged. I'll replace the bearings, washers, clip. $80 in new parts. Gears look ok.
