Suggestions for 3720 purchase

I'm about to buy a JD 3720 with a cab, 300CX FEL and MX5 rotary cutter. In the JD catalog on the 3000 and 4000 Twenty Series, page 12, there is a inset picture of the FEL with the bucket replaced by a blade. I can't seem to find that blade attachment on the JD website. Any clues?

Also, what other options, features, or attachments would you suggest I consider? I won't be using any mid-mount mowers of any kind. I have no lawn, but I do have 100 acres of woods I like to make trail through, a half-mile of gravel driveway to clear snow from, and 5-10 acres of meadows I mow once or twice a year.

Mike, there is little information of the blade attachment you are talking about on the JD website.. but what you can do to see a picture of it and msrp cost.... go to the configurator on the site.. select your tractor, then select the attachments... 300cx... configure the loader and the blade will be under accesories on the configurator.... you will see a manual angle blade and a hydraulic angle kit, which requires the extra SCV lines down your loader... I had them put on my 3720 Cab Tractor, just in case I ever get more attachments down the road... If you can I would also spring for extra hydraulic outlets (electric diverter kit)... there will come a time when you will want more couplers.... vertical exhaust was a must for me... I like that feature a lot.. Rear work lights are good too, mine are being installed next week, along with a rear wiper... also don't get cheap and settle for anything less than a heavy duty bucket.... the regular grades are very flimsy.... a few of my friends who have JD Tractors, got cheap and settled for the regular grade buckets.. and lets just say this, they are all bent and warped....and rewelded in areas... and these guys use them for a business..... and they got cheap! And of course they regret it now....

I found it, the Boom-mounted front blade. Available for the 300CX in 72" and 84" sizes. Any advice or experience out there for which size is the better match for the 3720?

Also, there are a lot of bucket choices. Which heavy duty bucket do you recommend?

And again, what about the 4-in-1 bucket? Says it will load, scrape, blade, and clamp material. Will it work as a snow blade?

Mike, I can't tell for sure from the photos but it looks like there are no skid shoes on the plow. If so, are they an available option? Right now I plow my long gravel driveway with a Fisher plow on my truck and without skid shoes I would be plowing a lot of gravel along with the snow.

Also, it looks like the whole blade is designed to trip as opposed to just a lower trip edge. How does that work out?

Mike's blade does have the skid shoes and they are standard, and they are pretty easy to adjust. The spring trip is helpful, but in my limited use of the plow before, they never tripped, mainly because the skid shoes would allow it to ride over an object. I can say everything on that blade is heavy, so it would take a major impact to trip the springs. I really like the boom blades too because one can change the angle at which the blade contacts the ground with the loader angling. So for example if you are plowing and the gravel is being displaced, just angle up and off you go. Very easy to use and according to my dealer, much more refined to attach and detach than the Curtis blade, which they also install.
