Subaru engine shroud

The Subaru has been drawing in leaves and grass that the back tires kick up, so this 304 stainless steel mesh seems to keep all of that junk from being drawn into the shroud and staying there. As I recall, someone on here had a Subaru engine fail and later found out the leaves and grass was packed inside the shroud. I know this engine probably has some deposits of junk in there already, but this will definitely help allot more.

Do you guys who have these smaller engines, do you pressure wash them ?

I built a 90 degree swivel for my pressure washer so I can get into tight areas on the PT. It works quite well.

Oh, and very cool on the setup.

Has it kept the tub cleaner? How did you attach the screen?
I always use a leaf blower to clean out the PT and give special attention to the tub area.

Great idea. I always find a big mass of clippings stuck to the fan screen after field mowing. That would help.

Sorry it took so long to get back to ya all. I pulled off some strands of the stainless steel wire and looped it around the plastic slits on the shroud, then put a few #4 sheet metal screws (with Superglue on the threads) around the edges of it. It doesn't keep stuff out of the tub, but you can really see how much of that grass/leaves was being sucked into the engine shroud.

That swivel head on the pressure washer sounds cool.
