Sounds as if the person whom rebuilt the float control on hyd valve didn't perform that task correctly & should try again!

On mine I take the cap off the end of the position with the float, and clean things off. If you don’t use your float often, tiny bits of debris will deposit and gum things up. When I first bought my tractor used, the guy I bought it from had never tried to put it in float. So the first time, I brute forced it inot float, it stuck there. Took me about five minutes to take off the cap and clean things up, and clean out the cap with a bit of brake cleaner.
Put it back together, gave a hard pull on the Joystick, and it came free. I use the float fairly often, and haven’t had an issue since.
And be sure to change your hydraulic filter often, at least once a year, regardless of the hours. the stuff gumming the float up was an ultra fine metal powder.
