4025 Mahindra Loader Valve stuck

Last few days my joystick would hang in the down position, had to jerk it pretty hard to get it centered. Yesterday it stuck big time and had to back up to the house. My question is the route to take, remove and clean or replace? Also what to prepare for taking this apart. If I replace, I sure don't want to go to dealer if possible. THANKS AND COME ON SPRING Mahindra 232 loader with maybe 500 hrs.

I don't know why no one hasn't jump on this before. I do not know your valve, but the cover on the end of the down spool has a spring in it and 3 or 4 steel balls. The spring might be broken or full of rust and dirt.

Does the joystick mount directly to the control valve or is it remote mounted with cables going to the valve? If cables they can and do corrode causing things to bind up. Usually requires replacing the cables.

Direct mount. Got a promise to come clean it for me. A little over my 78 yr old paygrade. Thanks
