I wouldn't have that 'Indestructible Trimmer' - in the video, the weeds grow back about as fast as he chops them off. :laughing:

I suppose there's no danger of the wire fragments on the cutting head breaking off and flying out? Must be made of some material quite different than the wire wheels on my grinder. I just don't quite think I'll be trying one out.

That's life in the fast lane. :laughing:

You have extended the adjustment on the harness or shoulder strap correct? I'll 5'11 but when my 5'9 spouse has used a shoulder strap, I need to readjust it for me. Does make a BIG difference in comfort.

I tried moving handle up, made it diff to turn the cutting head for certain angles, found the shoulder strap, it does help support and a lil easier on the lower back, Thanks for the refresh

Glad to see you got the adjustments mastered. Comfort of a tool is very important. We've been using these high powered whackers* for so many years and hours, its easy for us to forget that its not always obvious to everyone on how to adjust them.

* various makes as well.

heavy String cutting

Maybe someone would like to see how we cut and bring heavy strings with us. This is .155 thick variety. 1st one is how we carry it into the field. The bundles are held together with painters tape. Middle one is it being cut. The roll as seen here is not over costly when purchased bulk. The black sharpie marks in the table is the length I cut. This string is terribly hard to cut and the 6" side cutter seen here even struggles to do it. I have a larger ones that are better for the job.

Glyphosate does work pretty well, but I hesitate to use it anywhere near my fish ponds. I do use it, however, out away from the ponds, but there's still lots of weed trimming to do in places where I can't take a chance on run-off killing the fish.

I did write a scathing report to Amazon about the Grass Gater 0.105. I didn't ask for a refund, but Amazon on their own did send me a full refund. I suppose they do actually read reviews. I did get some Titan .105 from them this week, and it works great! I haven't waded off in the the Bull Weed patch with it yet, but if the .108 proves too weak, I'll be getting one of those heads like ArylA uses with some .155.

I'm thinking, with the great suggestions above, my problem is near 'whupped'.
