Forks Strap-On Forks

Anyone ever use any forks like theese before?

eBay: Bucket Forks Loader Forks Skid Tractor Pallet Forks tm (item 280131248030 end time Jul-14-07 10:43:14 PDT)

These are like $90 and there are others for $300... think they are any good?

They look pretty narrow and are made of square tubing so I kinda doubt the advertized 3000lb lift capacity but on the other hand most of us don't have loaders capable of lifting even half of that so they might be just fine for general purpose light duty work.

Really depends on wall thickest and OD....

I built rock sliders with a certified welder for my Xterra. They support my Xterra if a rock hits it. My X is 4000 pounds plus. The square tubing is 2 X 2 X 3/16" wall though.

Wow, those look great. I've always wanted forks for my bucket, but haven't wanted to spend big bucks. These things might be the ticket.

I'm thinking about getting a set. Mainly I'll be moving brush and small trees to the burn pile. I might find an occasion to move something bigger around with them but I don't see myself trying to move cars or anything too heavy. I was hoping to find someone that has acctually used a set-up like this to see how stable they really are. Thanks for the reply's

I see on their site they have a nice looking toothbar also......

Those forks are tempting, as well as the toothbar....

I made my own and they are very similar in design. The only problem I see with the e-bay item is that the forks may shift under load. Mine did. So I welded on the horizontal face plate (pic #1) that runs along the bottom edge of the bucket. Problem solved.

prosperity... i saw the tooth bar as well. i might try the forks first and then look into the tooth bar later on.... i have more brush and trees to move than dirt to move right now.

HangtownMatt... i see what you did and understand why... if i get some forks like these i'll weld on some angle iron to prevent the froks from shifting. great idea.

thanks to all for the replys... i might just go for it later this month.

Thanks for this link prosperity. I think it's time for a light weight brush fork, gotta move all my piles somehow..
