Still winter ?

I'm in south central Pa and we didn't get one snowfall this winter that was worth plowing. Some of the higher mountain elevations around us may have, but we didn't. I would guess that within 2 weeks I'll be starting to mow the yard regularly.

We've had buttercups for three weeks now. Not enough snow this last winter to even plow the driveway once. I'll be cutting grass - starting this coming week. First time in 38 years - such a warm winter and so little snow. NE WA state.

Its a little frosty here this morning - a chilly 70*. Still long sleeve shirt time until after breakfast. Yesterday it was a balmy 86*. That was perfect weather for mowing. Sadly, I had to start the day off with buying a new battery for the mower.

At least the corner vegetable stand was fully stocked with fresh vegetables, i.e. squash, sweet corn, cantaloupes, 'mators, an even strawberries (although not a veggie). Peach trees by the thousands are in full bloom. Its going to be a very good year.

Rained from the middle of the night till now, 40's out.
Snow mostly gone, but as I expected, March has been our snowiest month in a mostly snowless winter.

Maybe all the fruitcakes need to move here?? :) We're still XCing here.

Creek was a little out of the banks last night. Looks like a little cleanup may be in order on one part of the yard. No problem. Plenty of time. Everything's closed so there's nowhere to go.

I would have quite happy with more snow and less mud.;)

Yes, but it's got to happen sometime, and we're starting to see the mud. Although we still have knee deep snow I've been out walking on the crust without snowshoes... Friday I was about 1/2 mile into the woods trying to reconstruct a property line when it started softening up. I wasn't long beat feeting it back to the truck.
