Can you still pull off a geared tractor and crank it?

I think it’s have to be 100% mechanical injection. So many newer machines the injectors are fired electronically.

You can pull start an electronically injected automobile, as long as it has a manual transmission. I don't think it's the injection system that would make it not work on a tractor.

But it did make me wonder is this even possible now and is/was it possible for diesel's?

You can pull start a gas or diesel automobile. Diesels can be more challenging, just as they're more challenging for an electronic starter. Don't know why it wouldn't work with a tractor with the right transmission type, unless there was some sort of safety device getting in the way.

Not necessarily on all makes/models . My power shuttle uses hydraulic pressure to disengage the secondary clutch, not to engage it. With the engine off, the wheels are hard geared to the engine

My error but if you can’t disengage the clutch can you put it in gear while standing still and pull it or do the wheels just slide?

Mine has a mechanical link floor pedal for the primary clutch, that you would use for push/pull starting it

Mine has a push clutch too. So I am thinking its not hydraulic. It feels the same whether its running or not when I depress it.

Many of the newer ones will not keep the transmissions engaged to pull start. Most of the power shift and power shuttle will not tow start.
The mechanical geared transmissions and dry clutched tractors will pull start, if it has an electrical fuel shutoff a jump pak or good battery will still be required.

Actually, on my Kubota's with the hydraulic shuttle, when the motor is off and not running, the hydraulic clutch is engaged. When the motor starts is when you can disengage it. I can pull start both of mine if necessary. IOW, the hydraulics disengage the pack, not engage it.

You always pull start in a high gear, never a low gear.

Have you actually attempted to tow start your M9000's with hydraulically operated reverser? Please explain if your tractor has hyd shuttle what engages forward shuttle clutch when attempting tow starting. Yes I'm aware that damper clutch remains engaged 100% of the time but what do you think engages shuttle forward clutch with ZERO hyd pressure? My M7040 with hyd shuttle(reverser) will roll off if left in gear, shuttle lever in forward position if parking brake isn't applied or frt end loader bucket/bale spear isn't sitting on the ground & I'll bet your M9000's are identical!!!!!

What are you referring to as a "push clutch" the foot control pedal? If your tractor has a hydraulically powered clutch or hyd shuttle IE hyd reverser it can't be tow started. My M7040 has a foot clutch pedal that simply operates a hyd valve that controls hyd pressure that is applied to the forward or reverse clutches in the hyd reverser. No hyd pressure due to engine/hyd pump not operating = to no hyd pressure to engage shuttle clutch = to no tow starting.

My Kioti, is not hyd trans, has I think they say 12 gears. I have a forward/reverse lever mechanical it appears in the dash area, then l/m/h range selector followed by the 1-4 gears. The clutch appears to me to be mechanical, but honestly never looked for the hydraulic reservoir if indeed its a hydraulic clutch.

I do remember reading that periodically the clutch may need adjusting to ensure the clutch petal isn't partially engaged and wearing it prematurely. I haven't seen a need to do that yet. I have play at the start of depressing it that when depressed the tractor doesn't stop moving. I have seen other clutches with little to no clearance and when barely depressing the clutch it stops the drive train. This one doesn't feel that way.

So a mechanical shuttle transmission with a dry clutch, to shuttle I'm assuming you clutch/stop/select forward or reverse then let your clutch out to move.

You’re right. I checked my power shuttle today.
My bad
