Mike you know what I noticed about the stubs from welding yesterday? I through them in a little plastic bowel, this morning the bowel had a little water in it! Also a stub I left on the welding table was so wet it left fluid on my hands.:confused3:

I know what your saying, the flux is like a hard yet soft brittle sponge, until you have to remove it :0 I did notice it comes off alot easier when it cools down tho. Ill check my bench tomorrow and look at the stubs. In a pinch tho I felt they would work, maybe not for long term, but I felt a little more confident with them after a little tuning.
