We are thinking of changing cellphone providers and the intended provider’s current smartphone offering is an iPhone 14.True, but it also isn't uncommon for different manufacturers, their WiFi hardware, and their wifi drivers have different behaviors under similar network conditions. I've seen different vintage Samsung products behave differently. Ditto different versions of Android.
@KilroyJC there is also the option of gifting your wife an iPhone and an iPad...

now then, Mrs is not exactly an”technophobe“, but she and technology are *not exactly* on friendly terms. . . When I got her Moro-Z, she hated it, and after almost two years of BMC’ing about it, we switched to flip phones. about Two years after that, she started having problems with her Samsung tablet and began using the Droid as a WiFi device. Then about a year ago she began BMC’ing about the flip phone being a PITA because it didn’t have enough functionality (not her words…) so I recently reactivated the Droid on our cell account. . . This little episode has had her agitated again. . . Meanwhile:

I performed a factory reset and reattached everything to the network, and (—so far—) her devices are operating properly. We will see what happens when she wakes up this morning. . .
