Some people should stay in town!

I wish the neighbor across the street from me would get an area light.
He moved in about this time last year and up went the Christmas lights. OK, some people decorate early. After the holidays he swapped them out for different color lights. They are up and running year round, dusk to dawn and he has them everywhere. I think he uses them to light his area around his house and the glow spills a little into his drive. It's quite gawdy looking as he is the only house with decorative lights up.
They are much more intense than a light on a telephone pole set off to the side of the house. I don't know how the rest of his crew can sleep at night, he works 3rd shift.

Danny,

The neighbor and I talked about that, too. Like I said, though, this isn't his idea, it's his wife's. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Being single isn't all that bad. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Gary, Being single is great if you are happy with it. But unfortuantely all your married friends and family keeps trying to tie you up with someone.....Misery loves company I guess. If I were still single I could have retired 10 yrs ago, and had all kinds of toys.

No to marriage, lease option to buy is a better idea /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For every Jack there's a Jill...and the lucky among us are grateful to have found her! Marriage can be absolute bliss, as with Tamara and myself. We marvel each day at the fact we found someone willing to accept our many quirks /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have 3 yard light that have switches to turn them off. That's the way they stay unless they are needed.
There are other 4 lights that have motion sensors. They turn on automatically when someone leaves the house or comes up the drive.
We get a lot of deer around here. They keep turning on the motion lights. Does not seem to bother them. They eat all the bird feed from one of our feeders every night. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Ron, in some states that might be considered a bait station for hunters!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's legal to hunt here with a bow until the 14th. Then it's shotgun time. I am not a hunter but if someone happened to knock one off on my place I would take the Kubota out and help him load it in their vehicle. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There are Metro and State parks withing 2 miles of my place. No hunting in either one. In the evening you can drive through the Metro park and see several herds of 20 or more deer. They started culling the deer 2 years ago. Deer are not dumb they just moved out into my area. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ron, I agree with you on the deer population issues. I used to be a bird hunter, and would still do it if I could find the time, but I never had the desire to go after deer, bear, etc. I don't oppose it, it just never was in my blood to give it a try. We've got 155 acres of neighborhood with 28 homes and no hunting allowed in that area. Somehow the deer seem to seek out my freshly planted trees and shrubs and the ones they don't eat, they scrape with their antlers. There is a tree stand used by a bowhunter just across the property line from my lot, and in the "common area" of the neighborhood that is behind my property. I know he is there, he is not supposed to be there, but I'm not telling anyone becuase as far as I am concerned he can take a few dozen deer out of the area. 2 years ago he shot one and it went from the back of my property all the way through to the front and dropped just across the road. He was cleaning it where anyone could see him, I parked my Jeep to block the view so the squeamish neighbor lady who is shocked by the fact that people in the country own guns couldn't see. I never even asked his name, but he is out there every fall, and is doing me a favor!

I love Miss Holly, my wife, and we are wonderful together, but if we ever parted I would be single for a long time to come........and as for people setting me up with their friends, I would not really have time for it, as I would have a filled book in a few months.
