Daedong, that's very interesting, solar panels so thin they can be woven in fabric, placed in windows (transparent) and produce electricity even in partial shade. Thanks for the link!

This is flat wrong in my book. The system owner should get at least wholesale rates for any excess power generated. This might provide money for maintenance and upgrades.

I have been looking at a micro hydro system for about 2 years now and since my State ( Maryland, A.K.A. the Communist State ) is getting ready to raise our rates a whopping 75% I think I am ready to purchase the material for micro hydro.
Now, I may be wrong about this but I thought it was federal law that if you make more power with your Alt. Energy system then you use, the electric company HAD to reimburse you for that power. I'm pretty sure it is called the PURPA law.
I could be totally wrong but it might be worth googling "PURPA"
