Ah. That would depend on what type of grass it is. Around the house we planted saint augustine. It makes a good lawn for kids, good sod, and roots are not too deep. Good grass for SE Texas. But farther away from house is bermuda grass. Roots go 1/5 of the distance to China. You can Round-up, scrape, till, burn, and then set off a nuclear bomb, and grass will still come back.
