Anybody out there know where I can purchase a pair of Snow Skids for my 5' Smyth snowblower???? Every site I look at pretty much focuses on walk behind snowblowers. Snowblower is attached to a Kubota B3030 Thanks in advance......

Thanks, I checked them out and I think I'm get them for the FEL. Still gotta find something similar to that type of skid plate for the snowblower.

I looked for parts for my Canadian snow blower (LuckNow), and had a real hard time being from the lower 48. I was able to (eventually) find a US dealer who would order the hydraulic conversion parts from LuckNow. It was expensive, and a real hassle.
Anyway, the reason I am responding is that the OEM skid shoes in my case appeared under sized, so I ordered large shoes from a Beuhler dealer and just bolted them on to the side housing. Don’t necessarily rule out a simple bolt on solution that can be ordered locally.
On edit... I think it was Allied / Farm King, rather than Buhler.

Smyth welding and machine is still up in Aubrun Ontario and still making snow blowers the map on their Web site has shows dealer locations might try that?

You can try this link, but they were more expensive than buying the John Deere plastic skids from the dealer. I was looking for skids for my 54 inch Deere blower, but just ended up getting a small sheet of hdpe from eBay and making my own. Easy enough to heat and bend a piece to bolt onto the bottom of the metal skids. I think I got a 1/2 inch thick 6x8 sheet for under $10 shipped. The deere ones were $28 for each side.

See what RjCorazza has pictured there. When I had a 3-point blower I got a pair of shoes/skids - whatever - directly from the dealer. They were at least twice as wide where they touched the ground and were $56 for the pair. As I remember - - 10" wide by 16" long.

The blower company that I got my unit from is long out of business but with that picture - somebody handy with a welder should have no trouble making up a set.

Snowblowerskids.com, this is where I bought mine for my 60" rear snowblower, skids are 16" long.

Yes, yes, yes! The Fisher plow shoes are exactly what I thought of when you mentioned ' skid shoes '. If I were to be fabricating such, I'd make a shoe that would be more like a very short ' ski ' ( perhaps 2" x 4 " or 2.5" x 5" rather than a round plate, with the shaft closer to one end of the skid and the leading edge like the tip of a downhill ski. The bracket to support the skid( which would attach to the back of the plow or sno-blower ) would be longer to reduce the strain of the torque produced by the drag of the skid on the ground. The same technique of adding spacers between the skid and the bracket would regulate the height.

This is my first season using my 54" front mount snow blower on my John Deere 2520. we got almost 20" over 2 days here in upstate NY and I have a gravel driveway about 1000 feet long. After the first pass with the shoes down all the way I still caught gravel ( 1 rock as well so I changed my first shear pin as well ) so I was gifted a set of short snow skis from the local ski area and bolted them to the shoes. What a difference. The skis have metal inside yet are flexible as well. I used 3/8 carriage bolts and just bolted them on. No more digging in hence no more gravel.

And the skis were free.....about 18" long.

I have old cross country skis and I could definitely do that.
