Thought I'd post a few pictures of the snow plow that I built recently. Sorry, I didn't have time to add a hydraulic angle cylinder or paint it before the snow came.

Looks like that gets the job done for ya. I use my 5' back blade and my FEL to plow with. Works out great for me. Gerard

I see that you made an 'underslung' rack that pushes from the pull bar thereby providing straightline pushing.

Would like to know to what extent that approach (as I believe) eliminates the light stearing problems that seems to be associated with FEL plow setups.

I like the setup and it is basically what I want to make for my MT180D as soon as I find a 5-6' (cheap) blade.(or I'll make one from a large water tank that I have on hand)

Hopefully I'll accomplish that for next season.

Paint only makes it pretty and does not make it work better.
(well maybe it prevents the snow from sticking)
Well done!

The fear of light steering problems is the main reason I didn't build this blade to fit on my FEL. By building an underslung sub-frame, I was able to keep the entire assembly 2-3 feet closer to the tractor than with a FEL mount. I thought this would reduce the leverage that the blade has on trying to slide the front of the tractor around. I have no experience with a FEL mounted unit to compare to.

Well I got a FEL mounted plow on an L3830. Had it mounted on a Kubota snowblower sub frame, just to dang big of a pain changing back and fourth from sub frame to FEL. Now bucket & plow are quick mount.

I also have a 9' plow mounted on the FEL. It does have a little trouble steering when there is a lot of snow but I just use the brakes a little and it goes where I want it. In fact I'm very impressed with how much snow it pushes. I plow about 1 1/2 miles of road + my driveway.
I keep telling my better half it's work, but we know better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
