snow plow

Okay I have a 8' western snowplow. I even have the pump for lift an turning. I am kinda wondering if I can just mount the plow to my loader an use the Bucket hydo to make the plow shift left an right. Thoughts were to get two extended Hydro lines to go from the plow cylinders to the quik attach copplers on my JD 990.
Will it work?

Yes, it will work. Do a search for these terms to see how others have done it:

Yes that will work just fine. For years I used my rear remote to angle my plow. Now I have a third function and use it for the plow angleing and my grapple. An 8 foot plow may be just a bit to much for your 990. Good luck.

Thanks for the info! Yours is pretty nice. Mine I had thoughts of useing the western mount an just use the chain on the plow if I needed to lift. Now I may have to rethink that.

That is what I don't like about loader plows.... they stick out 8' beyond the front tires. Easily push around especially on ice. On a frame mount I can angle the blade and have it within an inch or two of touching the front tires.

I was plowing 2 feet of snow last winter and it never pushed me around. I used that rig for 5 years and the only time it pushed me sideways was when it dug into unfrozen ground.

Is this to say that by having the plow closer to the front tire that you will not get pushed around.

As long as you have your shoes set on the plow so that the blade doesn't dig in you won't have a problem. At least I haven't yet. The other plus is the farther it sticks out, the farther you can push it over a the edge of your drive or snowbanks.
