Greetings.
I have a situation where one roof dumps the rain and also snow onto another lower roof.( SHOP).The higher one is a meatl roof with an average pitch, but the snow freezes and curls around and takes the plastic gutter with it.:laughing:
I considering these
Snow Guards for Metal Roofing
or similar. I was wondering if anyone uses them and if they perform well.After looking at the price and shipping. I am going to try the el-cheapo , and I cut several small pieces of angle iron.They will only be 1 1/2 inch high but ill find out if it will hold anything back.
Any opinions are welcome..:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Wish i had known this problwm would happen i would have had angle iron out the rafters and make gutter brackets of steel lol:laughing::laughing:
Thanks

On a standing seam metal roof, I have snow rails that are supported by clamps similar to these: RoofClamp Metal Roof Attachment

Mine have a vertical bracket that holds two parallel bars that are about 10" above the roof to the top bar, but you could use the center bolt to mount a piece of aluminum angle-iron.

The snow piles up above them, melts a bit and dribbles down the roof on sunny days. I think you need to let that happen or you will end up with a big chunk of ice above the fence like any other ice dam.
