smith torch problem

Last time I was doing some gas welding with my smith AW-1 aircraft torch, the handle was getting so hot that I couldnt touch it without a glove, or it would burn me. The handle on my blueshield torch has never got hot to the point where I couldnt hold it, so I am sure there is something wrong with my smith. I wont be able to check anything on it for a week or so, but I would be happy to hear any ideas.

Replace the "O" Rings. Had a Smith cutting torch that did the same. Had to hold it with a hot glove. Burning inside the handle is the cause. New "O" rings should fix it up.

Ok I guess I will have to stop by air liquide soon and get some new O rings. Could it have cause damage to the torch? Also, is changing the O rings something I can do my self, or should I let the lws do it?

Yea, have had to replace a few as well, easy fix, unscrew the tip and roll on the new ones.

Ok so it sounds like something I can do my self, I will do that before I light it up again.
