You naysayers can say what you want about the slopped hood look, but after using one for a while it it tough to go back to my old AC, even though the AC tractor is half the size of my NH. It just seems bulky now.
As to the loader, curved ones may use less steel, but curved steel requires more manufacturing processes than straight steel so I don't think they are any less cost to build. They may even be more expensive to manufacture.
