I have a TYM4058 I bought a lane shark LS4 to clear my trails. I'm in New Hampshire, my land is not flat farm land and I have about 8 miles of trails. I chose the LS4 for it robustness, they had made improvements on this model, one of them being beefing up the index plate on both sides of the index plate by adding more steel. Now on multiple YouTube videos I watched before buying one they always state, once you index to a new position and the pin goes through the index plate not to forget to put the R clip back. Well on the LS4 because they added more steel the index pin does not go completely through the index plate exposing the hole for the R clip to be inserted. In speaking to Lane Shark they said that is normal do to the added steel but the pin should stay seated due to the spring tension. They were late getting it to me due to their manufacturing and I finally got it late fall just before the first snow so I could not use it. Well spring is here and I've been running it, first time after a half hour the index pin came out and the arm fell. I checked the tension spring on the index pin which was not in stalled correctly because this is under warranty I don't do anything without asking lane shark before hand. Had them send me a picture exactly how it should look. Then I changed it so it was seated correctly. One of the things they don't tell you is your throttle speed needs to be a full throttle higher than normal implement speed, other wise the cutters are moving to slow which causes a bucking when cutting brush and the tractor lift is slow and sluggish due to hydraulic fluid requirements ,ok no big deal adjusted, cutting was much better second time out, but the pin came out two more times. Lane shark tells me that is impossible, and they have sold hundreds of these and no one has had this issue, I must have damaged the unit ETC.. I sent them multiple pictures of the unit showing there was no damage, the spring was in the correct position. Their answer back to me was that flipping the spring upside down would fix it, that got me a little twisted after two weeks of gong back and forth with them I told them the spring has not moved since I changed it. Now I'm waiting for a manager to call me back. Is there anyone out there that has had this problem where the index pin come out during operation?
