You are limiting yourself out of good ideas.

Box blades are like swiss army knives. if you will be doing any landscaping.. they are almost as handy as FEL's... they also stay out of the way... Them or a ballast box are gonna be the best bet for a rear implement/ballast that doesn't get int e way.. otherwise leave the hoe on there.

You can build a ballast box for the back for less than 10 bucks.. I made mine from an old barrell and some concrete.. and bolted it to a 3pt drawbar.. used som scrap metal for the toplink connection.. i have one for each loader tractor i have.. cheap.. easy, and don't get in the way..

Thanks Soundguy that is almost too easy. The reason I am asking is after this latest snow, rain and snow mixture my darling wife cannot push the 8" of heavy snow with her JD 425. I told her to use the 770 and now she has decided that she can use it and enjoy it. However, having that BH hanging off the back makes her nervous (and me too) when she is operating it. We intend to put in a patio this summer and lots of stone work so she will be stocking material during the week while I work. I have no need for a back blade or box blade. Ballast boxes have to be filled to get weight. Looking for some other ideas.

I like what Lil43 did. Here is my box. My tractor has 2,000 pounds of lift at the pins. This block is 1,300. It makes a huge difference in the "feel" of the tractor.

Thanks.Yours is one of the nicest formed concrete ones Ive seen.I use to have an old Ford 1600 with an inverted roller full of concrete hung on 3pt but nothing like yours.
