Tractor supply carried the rock guards with ledgers, very reasonable. I have only replaced one sickle section, the one that met the t-post. KennyV

My husband just found a ford 505 and can buy it for 350.00 it works good and was showed by seller that it worked but your post is the only thing i can find any info on this sickle mower. Is it worth that and can you tell me any info on them good or bad? Thanks

My 80T works fairly well now, but I really need to install new sections and a few new guards.

Funny thing... I just broke a guard today...
Tractor Supply has always had them for less than $5... Hope they still have them in stock. I have used up my extra that I had...
The sections are a pain BUT when you replace them get the Bolt on kit, available on Ebay .. It is a LOT easier to do than rivets...
I have sharpened my set several times, getting close to needing replacement also... KennyV

I have a 501 ford sickle bar mower. I get my blades, ptman arm, guards, bolts at TSC, other stuff I get at WALT's tractor on the net (Walts Tractor Parts, Manuals and replacement parts for Farm Tractors). I have been using it since 2007. I have cut about 10 to 20 acres a year and $350 is not bad. Keep it greased well that will reduce the number of pitman arms you replace.
