Like many other members, I am faced with a soft pond edge and some steep banks. I have tried the brush mower and the hand held weed cutter resulting in a severe case of pucker factor and exhaustion, respectively. I happened upon an ad for the custom "franken-sickle" in the first photo. I was prepared to swallow the modest price if it fell apart, but with some TLC and new wiring for the winch lift, I have it working pretty well running behind a Ford 1520. My only complaint is that the 5 ft bar length doesn't allow me to reach up the bank or far enough over the pond to trim all the offending growth. Not yet defeated, I am considering the possibility of replacing the bar with a longer one. I have not been able to find any info on the existing bar (second photo detail). Does anyone recognize the maker and do you think it is a sound plan? Thanks for your help
