I am a novice in hydro. Is the float in the valve? I will have to add a valve and any thoughts on Fass'e?
Thanks,
Neil

Some of the jerkiness is caused by the flex of the cutter bar, but it will jerk less if you raise the height of the cylinder mount on the frame because the vertical component of the initial force is lower. Yes this would alter the range of movment of the cutter bar if you don't also change the lower location.

JJ & ZZ,
Higher on the frame and lower on the bar (closer to the pivot)? I need to study my tractor(IH TC 29) and your comments and get back to you.
Many, many thanks,
Best,
Neil

JJ,
I found an old post that indicated that the IH 1300 could go as much as 70d below level. Not sure if that is posible but certainly is in agreement with you that I have the drop I need.
Thanks,
Neil
