The shuttle shift on my brand new 3510i (3 hrs) is very very stiff. I have

never used a shuttle shift before & didn't know if this is common or is there a

break-in period.

Thanks

I think this may be a common problem as quite a few posts here about stiff shuttle, mine was stiff for maybe the first couple of hours usage, I have read others say give it the first 50 hours to loosen up. One poster had a good idea to give it a quick jerk, so instead of tugging on the lever give it a quick jerk, and remember, its just like a car with "3 on the tree" you need to also pull up on the lever during the process. The quick jerk method is what I used and it freed up quickly. Hope this helps. H.

56 hours on my 3510 and I still have slam it into gear. I probably miss about 1 in 20 times. It feels like there is a stop that keeps it from going all the way in if I shift easy. I'm so use to it I don't even think about it now.

It does take a sharp pull to get a positive engagement. You can try spraying some lube like twister or WD40 at the area at the base of the steering column and work it in. It should help if it is stiff
