i used to be able to focus up close from my nose out to 1', then it dropped off from there.
now I have a focus point that is about 6" from my face, in about a 2" narrow strip.. everything closer or farther is fuzzy..

My employer started providing safety/bi focal readers a couple of years ago. I can't seem to get used to them so I put my readers over my safety glasses when needed. Often I need to look straight ahead so the bifocal thing I can't get sued to.
Different story on sunglasses.
I'm on my second pair of sunglasses/bifocal readers which are great for driving being able to see the GPS. On my dual sport the GPS calls for looking downward so it works for me there.

Yes, you can buy straps at most eye glass dealers. Very useful for athletes.
