Does anybody know where the timing marks are for a 395 engine.
I think I will need these to time the injector pump. Looked all over and could not find any. Of course the manual was of no great value.
Is it normal to have light grey smoke coming out of the exhaust at idle (cold engine)?
Are diesels always that noisy? I'm obviously new to this so I would not be able to tell if it is running correctly or not.
It starts quite easily even in sub-zero weather but never warms up. Thermostat is 57 deg. C, that's about 135 F way to cold I suspect.
If I have not worn out my welcome, could anybody explain the difference between "position control" and "draft control" of the 3PH.
If I understand it correctly "position control" locates the implement relative to the ground and "draft control" maintains a constant force on the 3PH implement. Is there a danger of cross-controlling (the manual mentions something about not working the levers together).
On a 2430 how the *&*(/ do you get to the batteries?
I guess that's enough for now, but I'm sure there will be more to come.
