Hi all,
I'm a total newb and using my box scraper for the first time. It has flip up scarifiers but I can't figure out how to get them up out of the way for the blade only. There are two pawls for it to rest on and both extend down. Any advise?

I'm also missing one scarifier. Think I can find a replacement?

To bad you couldn't find any help - that looks like a nice old box blade. It would be good to get it going.

Thanks for that. It is a great blade despite missing one ripper. Super heavy!

Messed with it again today and still couldnt figure out how its supposed to work but it dawned on me: just flip up the scarifiers and then stick a piece of metal across the frame and under them to keep them from falling. Not ideal but worked like a charm; just leveled a new building pad

You need to take some better pictures that show the lifting mechanism so we can get some idea of how it actually might work.

HI, New member here and my first post. I have the same box scraper, looks like you may be missing some of the linkage that drops and raises the rippers. I'll try to post some pictures sometime soon of mine so you can get an idea of how it works. I'm pretty sure you could still get them up and down without the original linkage. The original rippers are made by H&L Tooth Company(800-458-6684) near Tulsa, Ok and can still be purchased. Part # is G-163-AT, stamped on the ripper. I would verify yours to make sure they are the same. I had 2 missing and just ordered some. The new forgings are just slightly different but the dimensions are correct. I searched craigslist for about 6 months specificly for this box blade and finally found one with all of the original linkages intact. I think these are about the best box scrapers out there, good luck.

Wow, thank you all! I see the pictures now and I am indeed missing some pieces (somehow).

Thanks k5 for that excellent info. For sure a great scraper!
