It's not just kids. I have friends in their 50's and employees that are constantly saying "seriously?", or "I'm like, really." If a person uses one phrase they most certainly use the other.
It is like a contagious disease that has spread to nearly everyone I know - it's hard to avoid infection.

There is little doubt that our language is alive, and evolving constantly. There are many terms that you may find queer during casual intercourse. A fag of 60 years ago is different than a fag of 30 years ago. Most of us would have great difficulty understanding the everyday language of our ancestors of a few generations ago. I find it fascinating. And astounding that newcomers to our great land catch the nuances of our language

I saw somewhere that Webster's had modified the definition of the word since it is seriously everywhere now....
