Even fixed it won't bring $20k in this market. It's worth about $16k with implements IMO..they won't be coming out of the woodwork to buy it at $16k if you don't fix the issues. With the issues fixed $18k

There are a lot of used tractors now
So, my feeling, is max asking of $12,000; and potentially around $8000. The cruise control and tilt steering are, too me, non issues really, and I wouldn't even bother disclosing, nor would I hide it. It's a used machine, and it has significant hours.

The PTO not working basically turned it from a tractor to a very small, under powdered front end loader. That is atleast a $4000 deduction from a starting point of say, $16,000. Then I figure 2000 hours, that's about half of what many people consider the useful life of a machine in this size/power range, maybe 1/3 used up?

I really would feel the need to disclose the PTO not working in the sales ad, and I would post it at $12,000. I wouldn't include attachments in that price, but I would use them as negotiating leverage. If they offer say, $10,000; I would counter with $12,000 and I'll include the attachments.

Edit; sorry, I saw someone talking about 2000 hours, but I see our OP only has 470 hours. Maybe we start at $13.5k?

Do you have any idea what is wrong with the PTO? A clutch, an electronic switch, or catastrophic internal damage?

It is a 22 year old machine too, and here's a bit of my reasoning; a brand new, 100% functional, CK3520 is $27,500. I would want atleast a 50% price cut for the age/damage. Even if the PTO is non fixable (at a reasonable price), it still would be a great addition for someone moving boats/trailers, moving some small material, ect; but not having a function PTO get rid of 50% of its ability.

On the impliments; it might be worth including the Box Blade in the offer; and sell the finish mower separate. The mower would offer the buyer no additional utility, as it can't run it. It's probably worth $750 separately.

Hold on, I just reread, and the PTO break doesn't work, but the PTO does still engage/disengage fine? That changes everything. It's still a 22 year old machine, but if the PTO enages/disengages, and doesn't slip under load, I don't know I would bother even bring it up. I could possibly start my asking price at $15k; but being as old as it is, I would expect it to bring about $12k or so.

If I'm still misunderstanding, feel free to correct me.

@tractorblue, how did you fix the PTO spinning problem? i would to fix the problems my self.
if I understand correctly, the PTO does not dis-engage. Underneath linkages there is an adjustable nut on a linkage that engages a safety switch. Either needs adjustment or defective switch.

Thanks for the reply’s and advice. The PTO engages when switch on, when switch off it continues to spin but I can put the finish mower on tall grass and it would stop. I can switch the PTO on and it starts cutting. Thank for the input.

Doing a search on TC35 PTO issues, I find 2

One is taking the seat pedestal off and doing something with the valve body or stop
The recall involves the replacement of a PTO stop plate and does not involve splitting the tractor. Repair time should be 1-2 hours according to CNH.

The other involves splitting the tractor.

This explains it better

Tom, I think the dealer will first remove your seat where there is an access port to the PTO control valve and cover plate on top of the rear transmission. He will remove the valve and plate and inspect your PTO clutch. If it is only a damaged stopping plate, that can be replaced without removing the entire clutch.

If the complete clutch has to come out, the Repair Manual calls for splitting the tractor between the front transmission case and rear transmission case so the shaft the PTO mounted on can be driven out the rear of the housing to allow the clutch to be removed. This is a much more critical issue than just replacing the stopping plate.

I don't believe the dealer will be able to tell you how big a job it will be until he gets the cover off the transmission and inspectes the parts.

I've uploaded two diagrams. The first one shows how to access the PTO valve through the access under the seat. The second shows the plate the PTO valve is mounted on and what the clutch looks like with the plate removed. The flat plate on the top of the PTO clutch with the notch in it is the PTO stop plate and what may be damaged on your tractor. Of course, it also might be ear on the PTO that slides into the slot. That would mean the whole clutch has to be removed.

Paulharvey was closest for the prices. The guy was local and knew about the model (he had one before), came to see it and drove it around and played with it, he said it was in good condition except for the PTO brake.
